About Daniel Prohaska

Dr. Prohaska is a well-known and respected orthopaedic surgeon on the leading edge of sports medicine in Wichita and the Midwest. He graduated with a Bachelor of Biology degree from Kansas State University and attended medical school at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. After his residency, he traveled to the the University of Pittsburgh where he completed his fellowship in the field of Sports Medicine. While in Pittsburgh, he worked closely with the University of Pittsburgh athletes as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers football team. After completing his fellowship in 2001, Dr. Prohaska returned to Wichita and began his practice specializing in the care of shoulder, sports-elbow, and knee injuries. He is constantly in search of the newest and most effective treatments and surgical technology to provide his patients with the best outcomes and fastest recovery possible. Dr. Prohaska works with the Via Christi Sports Medicine Team in serving local athletes and he personally serves as a team physician for Wichita State University, Newman University, Southwestern College and Butler County Community College. In addition to all of his professional activities, Dr. Prohaska enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
