He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at UPMC, and a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Before joining Orthopaedic Specialists–UPMC, Dr. Sotereanos was professor of orthopaedic surgery at the Drexel University College of Medicine, West Penn Allegheny Health System campus. Since 2009, he has repeatedly been named one of the Top Doctors in Pittsburgh by Pittsburgh Magazine, and is a member of the American Association for Hand Surgery, the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and the American Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and Elbow. Dr. Sotereanos is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, with a certificate of added qualification in hand surgery.
