Dr. Mark Sumida is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon dedicated to providing quality orthopedic care to Chattanooga and the surrounding area. Our practice strives to provide efficient high quality patient care. We understand the healing of orthopedic injuries and conditions requires knowledge, experience, and compassion. The treatment of orthopedic conditions continues to evolve and improve rapidly. New techniques and research have significantly improved patient care and outcomes. I came to Dr Mark Sumida because of three injuries to my shoulder. He was recommended by my daughter, who was successfully treated for severe plantar fasciitis. Dr Sumida operated on my rotator cuff and repaired my damaged biceps muscle; this was followed by several months of intense physical therapy. Dr Sumida stayed in communication with my PT to keep the healing headed in the right direction. I am now through with all PT and follow-up visits with Dr Sumida and my shoulder is better than ever! I am an avid kayaker and the pain before surgery had kept me off the water for a year. I recently paddled again for the first time post-surgery with NO PAIN! I highly recommend Dr Sumida.
