A Louisiana native, Dr. Harrell graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center-Shreveport School of Medicine. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, followed by a second residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Harrell is board certified in orthopedic surgery and orthopedic sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He holds fellowships with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM). Dr. Harrell and his wife are the proud parents of two fine sons and one wonderful daughter. He has six grandchildren whom he loves to spoil. Away from the clinic, Dr. Harrell stays busy with his small farm, building and flying experimental aircraft, and is constantly tinkering in his shop.
